About Me!

Howdy there! My name is Artemis Austin (or just Artie), and I'd first like to thank you for not only checking out my website, but also bothering to check out my about me page! As most people do, I have an extremely long life story, but I'll try to condense it into the most important career stuff for your sake. I've always been a very passionate lover of art, in all it's forms. I come from a very creatively gifted family, and there is nothing we enjoy doing more than creating for each other. 

As soon as I could pick up a pencil I began to draw, and I haven't put it down since. All of my art is completely self-taught, but I certainly picked up a few helpful tips from others here and there. 

I have a similar story with photography, I was given my first little camera when I was somewhere in my early pre-teens. I recorded literally everything, it was like I was right out of a Paranormal Activity movie. Eventually my Nana and Grandpa gifted me with a full blown real camera, and I used every opportunity I could to take photos. Eventually I moved into making it a more career-based hobby, and started taking photos at comic conventions, taking portrait photos for families, and doing event photography for various non-profits. 

This path eventually led me to attending Conestoga College, where I went for Television and Independent production. While there, not only did I re-learn my love for photography and film, I discovered a new love: video editing and graphic design. I graduated from Conestoga in 2022, and since then I've been working hard to hone my skills. My current goal is to be a fulltime freelance photographer, but I will never pass up any comission opportunities for any one of my passions. 

More personally, I have a partner who I've been with for six years, as well as three handsome cats, Ghost, Pumpkin and Jinx. Whenever I'm not drawing, I like to play video games, watch movies, and read! I'm currently going through a lot of classics, with the next one on my list being The Turn of the Screw!
